Our policies encompass key areas including appointment scheduling, cancellations, payment options, confidentiality, and more. We request that you read through this page carefully, as following these guidelines enables us to deliver exceptional care while fostering a respectful and supportive environment for all.

Patients Privacy

We use your information to:

  • Provide psychiatric care
  • Communicate with other healthcare providers (with consent)
  • Process billing and Medicare claims
  • Fulfil legal obligations (e.g. mandatory reporting)

We do not disclose your information without consent unless required by law.

Referrals

To initiate your engagement with our service, kindly submit a referral from your general practitioner(GP). Upon receipt, a psychiatrist will conduct a thorough review to determine whether your clinical needs fall within the scope of care we provide. Should your referral be accepted, you will receive notification either via email or through a phone call. We respectfully advise you to monitor your email inbox including spam and junk folders to ensure you do not miss any correspondence from us. We remain committed to supporting you in your pursuit of improved mental health and wellbeing.

Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy

Clients are required to provide a minimum of 48 hours’ notice for any cancellations or requests to reschedule appointments.

Cancellations made within 48 hours of the scheduled time will incur a fee. In cases of non-attendance without prior notice, a charge equivalent to 50% of the full appointment fee will apply.

We understand that emergencies may arise, and we will make every effort to accommodate rescheduling where possible. However, we respectfully ask that clients consider the time of our practitioners and fellow clients by providing as much advance notice as possible.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in upholding a fair and respectful approach to cancellations and missed appointments.

Referral Validity and Appointment Scheduling

It is the patient’s responsibility to ensure that their referral remains valid for all scheduled appointments. However, as part of our commitment to continuity of care, our administrative team will make every reasonable effort to alert you if we identify that your referral is nearing expiry during the scheduling process.

Please note that timely renewal of referrals is essential to avoid disruptions in your treatment and to ensure compliance with Medicare and clinical requirements.

Payment and Medicare Rebate Information

As a private practice, full payment is required at the time of consultation. We accept EFTPOS, Visa, and Mastercard.

Following your appointment, a receipt will be provided for Medicare rebate purposes. Alternatively, our reception team can submit your claim electronically to Medicare on your behalf, should you prefer this option.

Please note that eligibility for a Medicare rebate requires a valid referral from your general practitioner or referring specialist. Ensuring your referral is current prior to your appointment is essential to avoid delays in processing your rebate.
